What data we collect

You do not need an account or need to provide contact details such as your name or email address to use Get Wheel Spinner. Names and options you choose to enter into the tools are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to us.

The site includes Google Analytics 4 on every page. Analytics data collection is described below.

Analytics

Every page on this site includes Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-TXL3T1FLZT). The analytics tag is loaded automatically by the site, although a browser setting, extension, network filter or other privacy tool may block it.

Google Analytics can use first-party cookies and collects information about use of the site, including approximate geolocation and browser and device information. We use the resulting analytics reports to understand how the site is used, such as which tools are popular. The names or options you enter into the site’s tools are not sent to Google Analytics by our site code.

If your browser or another privacy tool blocks Google Analytics, the site’s tools will still work normally.

Browser storage

Some information is stored in your own browser. None of it is transmitted to us.

Cleared when your browser session ends: the custom options you add to a wheel, and your winner history for each tool.

Kept until you delete it. These settings persist between visits:

• gws-theme — whether you chose light or dark mode.
• gws-sound — whether wheel sounds are switched on.
• gws-wheelmode — whether you chose the 3D or classic wheel view.
• gws-classroom-student-list — created only if you press Save Class List on the Random Student Picker. It can contain student names, and it stays in that browser until it is removed. Press Clear Saved Class List on that page, or clear your browser data, to delete it. This list is never sent to us and we cannot see it.

Children

Get Wheel Spinner does not require children to create an account or provide contact details. The analytics and browser-storage practices described above apply to all visitors.

If you use the classroom tools with pupils, please note the point above: a saved class list stays on that computer until somebody clears it. On a shared or school computer, use Clear Saved Class List when you have finished.
